BSH Sponsors two Kitchen Design Degree Students
BSH is sponsoring two aspiring kitchen designers towards a Buckinghamshire New University Distance Learning FdA Kitchen Design degree. Fiona Woodall and Will Callaghan are currently being part funded by BSH Home Appliances with a generous sponsorship package, on a course designed to offer Woodall and Callaghan a path into the kitchen design industry.
The Foundation Degree programme “aims to produce more informed and creative designers with better skills, product knowledge and understanding of their industry.” The two students will gain a formal qualification in Kitchen Design and receive training that “meets the needs of a fast paced, changing and demanding industry.”
Fiona Woodall, who has been working for Colliers kitchens in Worthing for four and a half years after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Furniture & Product Design, says she is now “managing my own projects and creating my own designs for customers. My past experiences in cabinet making help me to understand the construction of the kitchen and kitchen furniture and installation requirements.”
Will Callaghan is currently combining working in the family kitchens & bedrooms business with his University coursework, and says: “With the degree in the future I plan on taking all my knowledge into the industry and eventually taking over the family business, which has been an ambition of mine for some time. I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity by BSH to expand my knowledge and grow my skills.”
