John Lewis Clearance sales lifted by Electricals & Home Technology

John Lewis reported an increase of 8.8% in sales for the week ended 1st July – its first full week of summer Clearance.

Sales rose to £98.7 million.

The retailer said Electricals & Home Technology had a really strong week, up 12.4% year on year. As customers took advantage of clearance prices, sales of Apple products rose 34% overall, with Apple Watches increasing by 115%.

Electricals & Home Technology has recorded a 1.9% rise this year so far (up to week 22).

Home also had a good week with sales up 8.1%, while Fashion recorded an uplift of 6.9%. Both directorates were helped by the warm weather.
