KitchenAid introduces new induction cooking concept
KitchenAid is aiming to “revolutionise” home cooking with an appliance comprising two deep-set induction trays and high-grade stainless steel containers that combine the performance of an oven with that of an induction hob.
The Chef Sign appliance was inspired by the professional units used in the kitchens of top restaurants.
The cooking system offers five different functions: steaming, boiling, cooking at low temperatures, roasting and frying. It promises even heat distribution with no heat loss and superb temperature precision.
The accessories – baskets for frying and steaming, a pasta drainer and a glass lid – are also inspired by products used in professional kitchens and are essential to the unit’s wide functionality.
With direct and precise temperature control, food typically prepared in an oven can be roasted in the multi-purpose pan, so the unit will cook a range of foodstuffs, from herb crusted roast beef to a slow cooked chicken casserole. The special steaming surfaces over the baskets maintain the texture and flavour of food with very little loss of vitamins and minerals.
KitchenAid’s technology allows users to set the cooking temperature with precision, even at low levels, and to maintain that temperature for the set time.
Key features include:
- Two 1.4kW induction zones which can function simultaneously or separately
- Five cooking modes: to boil/simmer, fry, roast, steam, low temperature cooking
- Nine power levels
- Electronic timer
- Child safety lock
