Loewe creative director wins Land Rover BORN Award
Loewe creative director Bodo Sperlein has been named the winner of the ‘Home Design’ category in Land Rover’s BORN Awards for the design of the German CE brand’s bild 9 television and klang 9 speakers.
The ceremony recently took place in Alesund, Norway, where 11 other winners from almost 40 nominees were awarded prizes for product design across various categories including sustainability, fashion, architecture and technology.
Bodo Sperlein was appointed creative director for Loewe in January 2016. He has since designed and developed a series of new products including the bild 9, klang 9 and bild 5 – the brand’s first television to make use of natural materials.
Gerry McGovern, chief design officer at Land Rover, said: “Every year the Awards bring together the brightest, the best and the most pioneering creators in the design industry, and every year the sheer scope of what is competing for the various prizes is staggering.”
