Technical Specialist – Electricals and Electronic Equipment

Salary: £40k to £42k

WRAP is currently seeking maternity cover for an Electricals and Electronic Equipment Technical Specialist, to play a key technical role in our ground-breaking work across the electricals supply chain. The role is offered as a 10-month fixed term contract.

WRAP works with governments, businesses and communities to deliver practical solutions to improve resource efficiency. Our mission is to accelerate the move to a sustainable, resource-efficient economy by:

  • re-inventing how we design, produce and sell products,
  • re-thinking how we use and consume products, and
  • re-defining what is possible through re-use and recycling.

As Technical Specialist you will be responsible for providing knowledge leadership in the electricals sector to WRAP and the sector.  You will represent WRAP externally, developing strong relevant senior level contacts with Government, industry, professional institutes and trade associations (or equivalent bodies).

The role will involve the identification and development of new initiatives and projects that support esap’s commitment to the Electricals and Electronic Equipment (EEE) sector. This will include supporting the development of collaborative projects which align with esap’s 5 themes.  Successful candidates will have a demonstrably strong understanding and experience of the electricals and electronics sector, along with well-developed influencing and negotiation skills.  Candidates will also need to be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
