Smeg extends Linea range with low profile gas on glass hobs

Smeg has brought a new collection of gas on glass hobs into its contemporary Linea range of cooking appliances. The products are available in 74cm and 60cm widths and feature 4mm thick CERAM ceramic glass bases that can withstand temperatures of up to 800°C.

The prototype of the 74cm white glass PV175CB was unveiled in Milan in 2012 and won a GOOD DESIGN™ Award at a ceremony held in New York, organised by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in co-operation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.

Smeg-PV175CB hobBoth models have low profile, high-performance burners that project vertical flames directly to the base of the pan. On impact, the flames radiate outwards from the centre of the pan, targeting heat across the base more efficiently than traditional burners. The 74cm hobs are equipped with five gas burners, the 60cm versions with four, all of which are finished with black or white enamel coated burner caps to match the glass base and rigid one-piece enamel coated cast iron pan stands.

72cm and 60cm hobs available in white, black and silver glass with contrasting pan supports have also been added to the Linea collection.
