Smeg introduces Italian designed Dolce Stil Novo appliance collection
Smeg is to introduce what it describes as its “most elegant and technically advanced collection of appliances ever” to selected premium stockists in September this year.
Dolce Stil Novo, which translates from Italian as ‘Sweet New Style’, is a collection created in collaboration with the brand’s long-time design partner, award-winning architect Guido Canali.
The detailed collection of ovens, compacts, wine coolers, coffee machines, hoods, warming drawers and blast chillers feature technology such as touch-screen controls and automatically retractable handles cut from the finest materials.
According to Smeg, the design follows “an artistic vision of where opposites meet and darkness becomes light.”
Four flora and fauna-themed hobs with premium titanium pan-stand casts of leaves, butterflies, fruit and birds, chosen personally by Smeg CEO Vittorio Bertazzoni, are a standout feature of the collection.
Dolce Stil Novo ovens have an automatic retractable handle made from a fine band of glass. It sits flush to the oven when not in use and is extended by a light touch on its surface.
Precision craftsmanship continues throughout the collection of 60cm pyrolytic, multifunction and 45cm compact and steam models, with refined stainless steel or copper detailing providing a subtle burst of colour against the monochrome Eclipse glass, which appears opaque and mirrored when the oven is off, but turns transparent when the appliance is switched on.
Other details include full colour touch-screen displays and soft-close door mechanisms.
An extensive selection of hoods, under counter and built-in wine coolers, compact combi microwaves, steam ovens, coffee machines and 15cm warming drawers, all in the same signature style, complete the collection.
The ultra-modern collection is designed to suit high-end contemporary kitchens.
