Stoves reopens Community Kitchens Competition
A community projects fund run by GDHA brand Stoves has reopened after being been inundated with hundreds of entries from charities across the UK.
The £20,000 Community Kitchens campaign aims to place the kitchen at the heart of local communities by helping organisations to transform their kitchen facilities.
In the last year, more than 400 nominations have been received from community projects and more than 11,000 votes cast to choose the winners.
In January the first prize of £5,000 of Stoves cooking appliances went to the Moorland Community Centre in Splott, Cardiff, which provides hot food and company for older people within the community.
Other winners included a South Tyneside-based charity Hospitality and Hope and Tees Valley-based community and schools project, Little Sprouts CIC.
The competition has now reopened and nominations will be accepted via the Stoves website. When the nomination period has closed, a shortlist will be announced and put to a public vote. The projects which receive the most votes will be awarded bronze, silver and gold prize packages, worth between £2,000 and £5,000.
The deadline for nominations is midnight on Sunday 11th June 2017.
