Yamaha announces new AV receivers and extra MusicCast streaming services

Yamaha has announced a new range of entry- to mid-range AV receivers, plus extra streaming services coming to MusicCast with TIDAL and Deezer.

The entire range of new receivers from the RX-V83 series, comprising the RX-V383, RX-V483, RX-V583 and R-V683, includes Dolby Vision, 4K Ultra-HD and HDR compatibility, plus MusicCast connectivity and versions of Yamaha’s YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Acoustic Optimizer).

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are supported on the RX-V583 and RX-V683, with the RX-V383 and RX-V483 supporting Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio.

Bluetooth is included in all models, with the RX-V483 and above featuring Bluetooth transmission as part of MusicCast.

The RX-V683 features the upgraded YPAO-RSC (Reflected Sound Control), which accounts for reflective or awkward surfaces & furniture in the room, creating “a more immersive and controlled sound space.”

The RX-V683 features an MM phono stage inside, allowing users to play all their records through the same home cinema system, and with MusicCast inside, the vinyl collection can be streamed all over the house.

The RX-V383 and RX-V483 are expected to be available in May 2017, with the RX-V583 and RX-V683 following in June 2017. No suggested retail prices have yet been released.

The additional TIDAL and Deezer streaming services will be coming to MusicCast “later this year.”
