B&O announces “next-gen” true wireless earphones

Bang & Olufsen has announced its new Beoplay E8 true wireless earphones, a third-generation product re-engineered to achieve “significant improvements” over previous B&O iterations with a focus on more comfort, more clarity and longer battery life.

Designers used 3D modelling and consumer testing to make sure that the Beoplay E8 fits a larger variety of ear shapes and sizes. The size of each earphone has been reduced by 17%, weight reduced to only 5.8 grams per piece, and with up to 35 hours of playtime the E8 has achieved a 119% improvement on the previous model.

The playtime is made up of up to seven hours of continuous playtime plus four full charges built into the premium leather wireless charging case, which can itself be charged in just 2 hours.

Bang & Olufsen has also doubled the number of microphones from two to four to achieve a “beamforming technology” directed towards the mouth. This makes sure that the voice is delivered with clarity while suppressing ambient noise from the environment. The increased number of microphones also improves the Transparency Mode, which allows the user to listen to ambient sound with a simple tap on the earphone.

Beoplay E8 comes wrapped in a finely crafted leather case with wireless charging that gives the E8 all-day playing capability. The earphones fit into the leather case with a secure magnetic click.

Beoplay E8 3rd Generation will be available in the UK from February 14th with a retail price of £300.
