Bowers & Wilkins launches two Signature loudspeakers

Bowers & Wilkins has launched two new Signature versions of speakers from the Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series range: the stand-mount 705 Signature and the floorstanding 705 Signature.

Signature launches have been rare in Bowers & Wilkins’ 54-year history, and the company said: “when [we do] attach the name Signature to loudspeakers, you can be sure the results are very special.”

The Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series range was launched in 2017, and features Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top assembly, Continuum cone drivers and Aerofoil profile bass drivers. These new Signature products “have received further, detailed improvements enabled by upgraded crossover designs and components.”

Both models now feature specially treated and upgraded bypass capacitors sourced from Mundorf, larger heatsinking and, in the case of the 702, an upgraded LF capacitor on the bass section of the crossover.

Each has a new Datuk Gloss ebony-coloured and distinctively grained veneer on cabinets, sustainably sourced from specialist Italian wood company Alpi, bright metal trim rings around the mid/bass and midrange cones plus bright, silver- finished tweeter grilles.
