Cello teams up with Midwich for World Cup 2018 “exclusive”

British TV manufacturer Cello has announced it is working in partnership with Diss-based distributor Midwich to capitalise on the 2018 World Cup.

Midwich will hold the exclusive distribution rights for Cello’s 75” and 85” (C75ANSMT-4K and C85ANSMT-4K) TVs to the leisure and hospitality markets, which will benefit from drawing in football fans to watch games in their establishments.

Midwich is an established trade-only distributor of Cello products, having worked with the Bishop Auckland-based manufacturer for several years providing a variety of products to businesses.

The two firms said they intend to “exceed expectations” due to an increase in national advertising and the implementation of new marketing initiatives focusing on sales during the build-up to the World Cup 2018. Cello is aiming to double sales during the event period.

CEO Brian Palmer commented: “It’s our mission to create quality and affordable products that appeal not only to the everyday consumer but to niche market segments in the B2B space. To that end we have developed an exclusive partnership with Midwich, as they have the established connections to supply and service these specialist clients.”

“Big sporting events can be a very lucrative opportunity for pubs and bars,” said Mark Flesher, Business Manager at Midwich. “It’s important to provide the best possible viewing experience to get football fans flocking through the door. What can be better than cheering on the England football team with an ultra large TV made by a British manufacturer?”

Cello’s large TVs are 4K and also support Android Smart. In the retail market they are competitively priced, costing consumers £2,799.99 for the 85″ and £1,699.99 for the 75″ screen.
