CES 2018: Whirlpool shows smart domestic appliance developments
Whirlpool’s 2018 CES offering highlights the brand’s commitment to smarter cooking, cleaning, washing and cooling appliances that “create simplicity for families throughout their various day-to-day tasks,” said Jennifer Tayebi, communications brand manager, Whirlpool brand.
The Whirlpool booth, located in the Smart Home section at the Sands Expo Center, will showcase the latest in Whirlpool smart appliances designed to help families care smarter, including:
The Smart Front Control Range and Smart Over the Range Microwave with Scan-to-Cook Technology, which integrate with Yummly to deliver a personalized cooking experience, integrating recipes and cooking functionality into one platform; The Smart All-In-One Washer and Dryer, featuring less complex washing routines and providing a compact space-saving unit, will “help families keep their daily tasks going, even when they’re busy and forget about their laundry.”
Collaborations with Google, Amazon and Apple provide hands-free voice command capabilities via Google Assistant and Alexa, ordering of ingredients and supplies on demand via Amazon Virtual Dash within the connected refrigerator lineup, and remote control of the Smart All-In-One Washer and Dryer from a mobile device through the Whirlpool® mobile app.
Whirlpool brand and Yummly have also won three 2018 CES Innovation Awards for new and innovative kitchen products: the Whirlpool Smart Suite in Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel; Whirlpool Smart Microwave with Scan-to-Cook Technology and Yummly 2.0 featuring ingredient recognition and connected recipes.
