CIH raises over £20,000 for charity

Buying group CIH has announced that two of its recent member and supplier events resulted in over £20,000 being raised for charity.

An auction during the tropical island-themed gala dinner on the final evening of the 2019 Euronics business conference raised in excess of £20,000 for the Grand Bahama Disaster Relief Foundation to support those affected by Hurricane Dorian.

A number of suppliers donated items and experiences, including a smart watch and a trip for two to Barcelona, for the auction, and CIH supplied a variety of lots including a signed England rugby ball and tickets to a number of sporting events.

CIH also supported the auction by donating both products and staff time. One bidder won the prize of extra staff for a day, with services to be rendered by the buying group’s CEO Stuart Cook, Head of Purchasing Tracey Harris and White Goods Buyer Matthew Doyle.

A ‘beat the pro’ competition held at the Euronics golf day in September raised a further £350 for the same Disaster Relief Foundation, and a prize draw for a television raised over £300 for mental health charity Mind.

“At CIH we believe it is so important to help others and we are delighted with the amounts raised for the charities,” said Stuart Cook.

“We extend our utmost gratitude to the suppliers who kindly donated items and the bidders for the success of the auction. We hope the donations to both charities continue to support those in need and we strive to continue raising vital funds for charitable causes in the future.”
