CIH: support for members during COVID-19
Electrical buying group Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd (CIH), which is part of the Europe-wide buying group Euronics, has issued a statement outlining its ongoing support to its members through the COVID-19 lockdown.
The Group says its warehouses in Andover and Preston are well-stocked “to help our members through the difficult weeks ahead”; twice weekly deliveries of orders will be maintained during the lockdown; open, two-way communication channels with its suppliers will also be maintained.
CIH has also confirmed that it has converted its Euronics Showcase 2020 into a virtual event which will be open for business to CIH members from May. This will enable CIH members “to take advantage of exclusive supplier offers and access display plans in readiness for Summer re-openings.”
CEO Stuart Cook said: “Euronics Electrical Retailers are an essential service to local communities. From supplying new appliances to replacement parts, repairs or batteries and lightbulbs, our members are remaining active and doing plenty of online business, kerbside deliveries, telephone support and more throughout the UK to keep households running. We’re working as efficiently as possible to support these activities and are well placed to help members get through this period and be in shape for a post COVID-19 world.
“We are offering real, tangible business support, confidence and product supplies to our retailers. Our first-class stockholding and delivery services are both still very much in place and we are the only buying group for independent electrical retailers in the UK able to do that. We are also excited that our Virtual Euronics Showcase will be ready for retailers to visit from May, so that they can plan for the future. Keeping communication channels open is also critically important at this time. We are in constant dialogue with our members to help answer their questions and get them through this period but, rest assured, we are also in constant contact with all CIH suppliers to make sure that their support for our members continues throughout the lockdown.”
In addition, CIH says it has made “a wide range of business resources available to all its members, providing advice, information and guidance on the business funding and support available from Government, staying safe and healthy and dealing with visits to properties for essential work and repairs. CIH continues to work with Government bodies, the membership, suppliers, credit insurance providers and Euronics International for the long term good of its members and their local communities.”
