Dixons Carphone appoints Group Director of Sustainability and ESG

Dixons Carphone has announced the appointment of Moira Thomas to the newly created role of Group Director of Sustainability and ESG, reporting into Executive Committee member Assad Malic, Group Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs.

Thomas will build on and develop the retailer’s existing sustainability commitments, including its pledge to achieve Net Zero by 2040, the transition to electric vehicles across its delivery fleet and the strategic direction of its partnership with Digital Access For All, through whom Dixons Carphone earlier this year pledged £1m to help support disadvantaged pupils, parents and teachers.

Thomas previously worked for the John Lewis Partnership, where she spent more than 15 years in various corporate social responsibility roles. Most recently, she was responsible for leading a team which focused on protecting and increasing the value of the business through ethical and sustainable business practice.

She has a strong track record in managing large scale ESG programmes with extensive experience across carbon, property, waste, packaging, recycling and communities.

With her experience and expertise, Moira will play a critical role in elevating our ESG strategy across the Group.”
