Dolce&Gabbana and Smeg collaborate on ‘Sicily is My Love’ collection

Smeg has partnered with Dolce&Gabbana to create its second ‘Made in Italy’ collection. The move follows collaboration between the two Italian brands in 2016, which resulted in the launch of the Frigorifero d’Arte refrigerator collection – a transformation of the Smeg FAB28 fridge into a “monumental work of art.”

This time Dolce&Gabbana’s designs have been applied to a selection of the Smeg’s small domestic appliances.

The unique collection entitled ‘Sicily is my Love’ will be unveiled this week during Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Each item in the range – kettles, toasters, juicers, blenders, coffee machines and stand mixers – has been decorated with quintessential Sicilian motifs: gold lemons and citrus fruits, prickly pears and bold, bright cherries, framed in traditional triangular Sicilian decorations known as ‘crocchi’.  Each also features a selection of delicate floral designs, inspired by the coast and landscapes of southern Italy and Mount Etna, surrounded by ornamental friezes and decorative leaf motifs.

The new appliances are expected to arrive in the UK by the end of 2017.
