Emirates FA Cup visits Bristol School
The Oasis Academy Connaught, Bristol, has received a visit from the Emirates FA Cup plus brand-new Nike kit, having won the nationwide LG TWINWASH™ Football Challenge to find “the muckiest football team.”.
Together with the National Schools Partnership (NSP), the LG TWINWASH™ Football Challenge was launched to find the muddiest and most active football team whilst raising awareness of LG’s new TWINWASH™ washing machine, “designed to remove the toughest stains, save time and energy for busy families.”
Parents, teachers and coaches were asked to submit match reports and photos of their “victory kits” to the NSP, andTeam OAC from Oasis Academy Connaught were selected as the ultimate champions, beating over 300 other entries for the title.
Representatives from LG Electronics, an Official Partner of The FA, visited the school along with FA Cup representatives, Wednesday 8th May, giving pupils the opportunity to lift the world-renowned FA Cup.
Mark Hill, Partnerships and Programme Manager at LG Electronics and a former professional player for QPR, Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers, addressed the school and presented pupils with their new kits and Cup. “We’re really proud to have engaged schools and community teams across the nation with the LG TWINWASH™ Football Challenge,” he said, “and delighted to name Oasis Academy Connaught as the well-deserving winners.”
George Fraser, Principal of Oasis Academy Connaught, added: “We are delighted for our pupils that they have won a new football kit and a chance to get up close to the FA Cup trophy. Many of our pupils, both girls and boys, really enjoy sport and especially football. It is great exercise and they have been really developing their teamwork skills this year.
“We are really grateful to LG for the opportunity; we are always looking for ways to keep children active and the TWINWASH Football Challenge and match reports is a brilliant idea. Our pupils had a great time having their photo taken with the trophy, and we look forward to seeing them proudly wear their new kit in the near future.”
