Exclusively 2019 receives positive reaction
The Exclusively Show (Housewares & Electrical) has released information announcing that core show visitors were on a par with previous years, and although the number of retailers attending was up, the number of delegates per retailer declined.
Overall attendance rose by just over 5%, driven by influencers and consumer press.
Simon Boyd, Operations Director on the Exclusively team, said: “The show embraced many new retailers who are championing new and evolving routes to market, alongside large respected high street names and, of course, our hard-working and determined independents, embracing change from all corners of the UK.”
The event, which took place earlier this month, featured over 150 exhibitors and 275 brands.
Will Jones, Bheta Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of Exclusively, said: “The feedback from exhibitors has been positive, with many commenting on the quality of visitors to their stands, including new customers as well as the increasing numbers of influencers and bloggers.
“It was very pleasing to witness the show’s Brand showcase initiative, now in its 3rd year, gain considerable momentum, with attendance more than doubling that on 2018. This initiative, alongside the Trend Initiatives with Scarlet Opus, highlights how the content of the show does needs to adapt and mirror the changing face of the market.”
The Brand Showcase, a dedicated space to promote exhibitors’ products to the UK’s consumer press and UK media influencers, saw an increase both in participants and attending press.
The Trend Hub, which provides the lowdown on interiors trends for the next 24 months, also drew a bigger audience. According to Scarlet Opus’ Phil Pond, more than 500 visitors came to see the Trend features, including teams from several of the country’s biggest housewares and SDA retailers, independent retailers, and journalists from a variety of sources. 2019 also saw the introduction of trend talks and displays from “the food people”, who spoke about the food we will be eating in the next 24 months and the specialist equipment needed to prepare it.
The Exclusively team members said they were “delighted with the mix and quality of retailers that attended.”
Next year’s event will take place at the Business Design Centre, London 9th and 10th June.
