Forbes acquires Walsall-based retailer’s rental accounts

Surrey-based rental firm Forbes has acquired the rental accounts from Claridge Electricals of Walsall, a provider of TVs and appliances to 1,450 accounts – consumer and commercial – in its local area.

The commercial accounts will be absorbed into Forbes’ commercial operation, Forbes Professional, which works across a number of sectors with a fleet of qualified engineers looking after a wide range of commercial laundry appliances including Miele, Maytag and Primus.

Each account will be allocated a dedicated account manager and will benefit from centralised and streamlined support.

The new consumer business will be looked after by Forbes Rentals, which provides home and electrical appliances with a same/next day service.

“We are contacting each of our newly acquired customers and clients to welcome them to our company, and will be ensuring a smooth transition for all concerned,” Forbes commented.

“Whilst we are a national operation, we will be providing a local-based engineer response, led by our multi award-winning customer service teams.”

Alongside the substantial organic growth, acquisitions are a key element of the Forbes business development strategy. The business, which was stablished in 1926, said it has purchased and absorbed the contracts from more than 50 companies over the years.

Finance Director Stephen Edwards, who heads the acquisition team, said: “Claridge Electricals had developed a sizable local business, and their 1,450 rental accounts are an exciting addition to our business. We welcome aboard our newly acquired clients and customers and wish to assure them that we will provide them with the first-class support that they will expect.”
