The company, founded in1926, has a consumer arm trading as Forbes Rentals and a commercial arm trading as Forbes Professional, delivering laundry, kitchen and electrical appliances, TV and AV solutions to a wide range of sectors across the UK.

Kevin Herring joined Forbes in 1988 and was made a director in 2004. He has been a board member at retra for many years, and “has played an integral role in the growth of the business over the years.”

Stuart Forbes says: “Promoting Kevin to this role was a natural progression as he brings both invaluable internal knowledge and exceptional external expertise to the table.  For a number of years he has been a loyal, prominent member of our board of directors. Kevin has impressive business acumen and instinctive leadership skills, and we are hugely excited about driving the business forwards with him as our CEO.”

Forbes is a family company with an expansive nationwide infrastructure, and has grown both organically and through acquisitions. Rental accounts “continue to be intrinsic to their on-going vision.” The company believes this appointment comes “at an opportune time for the rental market where there is huge potential to harness from Generation Rent.”
