Freeview Play collection tops 30,000 hours of on-demand TV
Freeview Play has announced it is now home to over 30,000 hours of on-demand TV – or as the platform puts it: “3.5 years’ worth of boxset binging bliss! – increasing its content by more than half in just two years.
The news comes following the addition of new players, alongside the drive from British broadcasters to make even more on-demand TV available for all, with new box sets, old favourites, brand new dramas and educational programming being added to the platform daily.
Freeview Play now claims to be home to 95% of the nation’s favourite TV, providing access to ten on-demand players: BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5, UKTV Play, CBS Catchup Channels UK, Horror Bites, STV Player, POP Player and BBC Sounds.
The platform’s offering is of course available to watch free-of-charge, with no hidden costs or subscription fees, and since its launch in 2015 over 13 million devices have been sold.
More than 9 million regular users make it the fastest growing TV platform in the UK.
Owen Jenkinson, Marketing Director at Freeview, commented: “As we continue to stay at home, TV is one way we can stay connected. With over 30,000 hours of content, Freeview Play’s incredible line-up is free and easily accessible to all, so whether it’s discussing a Prue Leith innuendo or a First Dates disaster, we can all get involved in the conversation.”
