From CES 2017 – Las Vegas: UK digital audio company Chord Electronics unveils three new products

Respected UK high-performance hi-fi and audio developer and manufacturer Chord Electronics Ltd has announced three new digital products: the Hugo 2 Digital Audio Converter (DAC); the Blu MkII upscaling CD transport; and the Poly module (pictured) that brings wireless, network and SD playback to Chord’s award-winning Mojo DAC. All three will be available in early 2017, according to Chord.

Hugo 2 is a radically redesigned and comprehensively upgraded development from Chord Electronics’ groundbreaking portable DAC and headphone amp unveiled at CES 2014, and introduces Chord’s latest proprietary Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology. Price of Hugo 2 is £1,800.

The Blu MkII upscaling CD transport incorporates the latest FPGA technology and new WTA M-Scaler technology developed by Chord Electronics’ digital consultant Rob Watts, with the most advanced filter of its kind in the world. Price of the Blu MkII is £7,995.

The Poly module enables the award-winning Mojo headphone amp/DAC as a fully fledged high-resolution wireless network music player, streamer and SD card playback device, and offers wireless playback and control from smartphones. It is priced at £499.
