From kitchen to living room to office, Formalia works for all

This Formalia kitchen composition features Rust and Light Grey matt lacquer doors, and a Rust-coloured Status Wall System. The finger-pull handle profile has a Titanium finish.

Formalia is the latest furniture collection from Italian kitchen and bathroom manufacturer Scavolini. Created in partnership with designer Vittore Niolu, Formalia is typical of Scavolini’s distinctive design language. The furniture blends simple geometric forms with hardwearing materials and thoughtful features to create a contemporary design that has timeless appeal.

Doors are the focus of the Formalia collection. They are available in a choice of matt and gloss lacquer, melamine, PET or aluminium-framed glass. And they are characterised by an absence of protruding handles to allow for a smooth, sleek surface. To open, Vittore Niolu has specified a discrete finger-pull, whereby a channel is routed into the top edge of the door or drawer front, creating a small lip to grip.

The lacquered, melamine and PET doors are offered in a range of colours or stains, depending on which material is chosen. Meanwhile, the aluminium frame of the glass doors (clear or smoked) is available in Black or Scavolini’s new Titanium finish. This is designed to match the profile of the finger-pull handles, also in a choice of Titanium or Black.

This home office solution comprises a PET base unit and sliding door in Rain colourway, and a Status Wall System in Rust with matt lacquer shelves and drawers also in Rust. The desk is Botticino-coloured Unicolor laminate, while the magnetic wall panel holds useful accessories.

To boost storage but also allow for an element of personalisation, Formalia is available with the option of the Status Wall System. An on-trend alternative to traditional wall units, the open shelves can be configured to match the storage needs of the homeowner and are available in shades of Black or Rust. And as well as forming part of the Formalia kitchen, Status Wall System can also be used as a partition between adjoining living areas.

Fabiana Scavolini, CEO of Scavolini, comments: “At Scavolini we believe in creating a cohesive feel throughout the home, where one space flows effortlessly into the next. To this end, Formalia crosses over from the kitchen and into the living room and home office. The design of the furniture links the spaces, but the flexibility of the collection means it can be perfectly configured for each room.”
