Golden Virus Seal for Miele dishwashers
Premium brand Miele has been awarded the Golden Virus Seal for dishwashers, for the appliances’ ability to remove of more than 99.9% of viruses.
The Seal was awarded by the independent institute at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, and Miele is the first and only company to carry the endorsement for dishwashing appliances.
It is based on Miele dishwashers being used in conjunction with the brand’s own advanced detergent systems such as the auto-dosing PowerDisk or Miele UltraTabs.
In 2020, the German brand received a Proven Hygiene certificate from the independent Rhein-Waal Technical University, which confirmed that a Miele model removes more than 99.9% of all bacteria.
Depending on the dishwasher programme selected, different types of viruses are removed. However, in all programmes, including ECO, enveloped viruses including Influenza and Coronavirus are removed**. In the Miele QuickPowerWash and PowerWash cycles, Noro and Adeno viruses are deactivated**.
Miele said the best performance is achieved in the Hygiene and Intensive programmes as more than 99.9% of both enveloped and non-enveloped viruses are removed.
Sian Bailey, category manager for dishwashing for Miele GB, said: “We are so thrilled that Miele dishwashers, when used in conjunction with our own advanced detergents, now offer consumers added peace of mind when it comes to removing viruses and bacteria from their cookware and crockery.
“A hygienic home is a must for today’s busy lifestyles and the current climate and Miele will always go the extra mile to ensure our customers get the very best and very latest technology to facilitate this.”
