Gorenje launches WaveActive laundry appliances

Slovenian manufacturer Gorenje has announced the launch of a new generation of washing machines and tumble dryers boasting intuitive features, several of which are patented and are said to be a “market first”.

The new models, available in the UK from September, incorporate a WaveActive drum with wave-shaped pattern, which combined with wave-shaped 3D ribs softens fibres and provides the gentle treatment of laundry.

The washing machines feature Gorenje’s IonTech technology, which blows ionised air into the water to help dissolve the detergent, helping it to effectively and evenly penetrate dirty laundry.

In the WaveActive dryer, the IonTech feature charges the air with negatively charged ions that tackle allergens, straighten fibres, reduce creasing and eliminate electrostatic charge. With SteamTech steam treatment at the end of the drying programme, the machine rehydrates the fibres, making clothes much smoother, with fewer creases and wrinkles, thus minimising the need for ironing.

Richard Mackey, Gorenje UK product and marketing manager, said the WaveActive models are a “giant leap forward” in the brand’s laundry offering.

“With all of our new products we strive to bring to life our motto of ‘Life Simplified’ and develop solutions that will have a lasting positive impact on users’ everyday lives, and this range does exactly that,” he commented.

The WaveActive models have received Red Dot design awards.
