HEOS by Denon soon to be Google Cast ready

Audio manufacturer Denon has announced that its HEOS wireless multi-room sound systems will soon be Google Cast Ready, allowing users to cast their favourite music, radio stations and podcasts to HEOS speakers from Google Cast apps on Android phone or tablet, iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows laptop or Chromebook.

Suveer Kothari, Google Cast Director of Business Development, said: “Based on the success of Chromecast, we’re excited to expand the Google Cast ecosystem by working with leading manufacturers like Denon to include audio devices.”

“Google and Denon both strive to provide consumers with the best that technology has to offer, leading innovation where consumers want it to go,” said Brendon Stead, Denon’s vice president of product development.

“By working closely with Google we are now giving HEOS users a great option of delivering sound where and when they want it. HEOS gives users the opportunity to play music however they choose and being Google Cast Ready means our users have an incredible option at their fingertips.”

The HEOS range comprises the HEOS 3 (£249), which is said to be ideal for smaller spaces such as bedrooms, offices, dens, kitchens and dorm rooms; the HEOS 5 (£349), ideal for medium to large rooms such as dining rooms, larger bedrooms and offices or smaller living rooms; the HEOS 7 (£499), a wireless speaker for the “ultimate listening experience”. This unit is said to produce true wide-range high fidelity stereo sound, delivering room-filling volume even in larger spaces such as living rooms, great rooms and open area floor plans.

Also part of the HEOS range are two models that integrate current Hi-Fi into the HEOS eco-system: the HEOS AMP (£399) and HEOS LINK (£299).
