Hoover announces first major cooking collection in two years

Hoover has announced details of a new cooking range comprising smart pyrolytic and steam ovens and gas and induction hobs, a total of 53 SKUs which represent the brand’s first major cooking collection in more than two years.

Collection 3 combines new design with practical functions and modern technology. A number of models incorporate WiFi connectivity, offering benefits including remote control, voice activation and access to 200 recipes.

The ovens, available in 65L to 78L capacities and single or double configurations, offer multifunction cooking with steam and pyrolytic or catalytic cleaning and are, according to Hoover, being tailored to offer exclusive models to retailers, either black glass or stainless steel-dominated finishes with distinctive knobs and LED display – variants include handle composition, trim configuration and panel design.

The Collection 3 also incorporates a total of 20 gas and induction hobs. The gas models range from 60cm to 75cm wide with four and five cooking zones, cast iron or enamel pan supports and wok burners. A selection of gas-on-glass models is also available.

Six induction hobs of 60cm or 80cm widths offer independent touch or slide controls and have boosters and/or flexi zones. Two SKUs are WiFi connected to provide remote control, pre-set special functions and step-by-step recipes. A ‘MyChef’ function can be used to set specific modes including keep warm, melt, simmer and boil, pause cooking and check the hob status. The units also have a power management function so users can control and set energy consumption.

A model cited as one of note is the H-HOB 700 HTPSJ644MCWIFI – a 60cm smart induction hob with independent slide control, two cooking zones and flexi-bridging.

Nick Platt, business director for built-in appliances, said Hoover has been impressed with initial feedback from the trade when discussing listings or displays.

“This is our first major cooking collection launch in more than two years and we’ve spent considerable time and resource ensuring the Collection 3 range meets both current and future consumer needs.

“As a leader in smart appliances, we wanted to build this tech into our new models to offer appliances that provide great performance and add value to everyday lives.

“Cooking is a major focus for us, evidenced in our partnership with Simon Rimmer, and we’re proud to be doing our bit to help consumers who aspire to cook better.”
