John Lewis collaborates with LG to launch own-brand Smart TVs
John Lewis has collaborated with LG Electronics to introduce its first range of own-branded Smart TVs. The units are currently being sold online and will arrive in John Lewis stores on 5th May.
The John Lewis Smart TVs (JL9000) are available in three large screen sizes (49-, 55- and 60-inches) and combine cutting-edge technology with elegant styling. The stand has an integrated, front-firing 50W, 2.1 channel soundbar to deliver enhanced room-filling audio to match the Full HD picture quality.
John Lewis has recorded a continuing trend in customer demand for larger screen sizes, with sales of 49-inch and above accounting for over 25% of its TV sales. John Kempner, Vision Buyer at the department store chain, said: “We wanted to create our own range of premium large screen TVs that would have a distinctive look and also offer the benefits of the very latest in on-demand Smart TV technology, while being easy to use. LG has helped us achieve this with a sleek and clever design that also includes a built-in soundbar to deliver an immersive sound and visual experience.”

The new TVs feature the LG webOS™ Smart TV platform that works with terrestrial TV to bring the world of entertainment neatly together. The platform allows people to enjoy Smart TV in a simple and intuitive manner, with the best in catch-up TV, movies, sport and music services.
The 49-inch JL9000 retails at £1,399; the 55-inch at £1,699; the 60-inch at £2,199. All models have a free 5-year guarantee.
