John Lewis extends Click & Collect service to 900 UK locations
John Lewis is adding 400 new Co-op stores to the 105 existing Co-op outlets in which its fast-track Click & Collect delivery and returns service is already available, bringing the total number of collection locations available via the Co-op and other stores in the UK to almost 900 by the end of summer.
The retailer first partnered with the Co-op in May 2019 with a trial in six of its food stores following the success of a partnership with grocery retailer Booths which launched in 2018. Customers can also access the service at all John Lewis shops – of which there are 42, as the business announced that eight stores would close permanently after the Covid-19 pandemic – 326 Waitrose branches and 12 Booths locations across the country.
The extension of the service is part of the Partnership’s plans to invest in digital capabilities and collaborations which make the shopping experience more convenient for customers.
Andrew Murphy, Partner & Executive Director of Operations at the John Lewis Partnership, said: “Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve seen a significant shift to online shopping and expect this trend to continue.
“Building on our already successful partnership with the Co-op, this extension will allow us to offer our Click & Collect service to double the number of locations across the country, enabling us to reach more of our existing loyal customers while engaging with new ones too.”
