Linsar UK acquired by Tempo Group [ARTICLE UPDATED]
UPDATE: Linsar UK Ltd in administration
Poole-based TV supplier Linsar UK Ltd has been placed into administration following financial difficulties and the threat of a winding-up petition by one of its creditors.
A pre-packaged sale of part of the company’s assets has been made to Australian consumer goods sourcing and distribution business Tempo Group for the sum of £102,500 – “goodwill” amounting to almost £80,000 of that figure and the balance comprising business intellectual property rights, spare parts, customer contracts, certificate of approval, stock and office equipment.
Linsar directors Barry Kick and Terry Reed have been retained by Tempo but will not be directors or shareholders in the new business.
Linsar had released information to the press early in July stating that Tempo Group had acquired the brand and its assets, but made no mention of the fact that the business was in administration (Original story below).
According to the administrators, unsecured creditors include Vestel Limited and HM Revenue & Customs.

Hello, I would like to know how I can have my LinsarTV 22LED906T serial number 6928308200090 repaired please.
I bought this 19/05/2014 with a 5 year guarantee. Linsar Policy Number : LINSAR/2014/04461
The TV failed in August this year when the screen just went black with no audio or video output.
I returned it to my supplier who checked the fuse.
They subsequently informed me that Linsar had been sold, and the arrangements for repairs had not been arranged. I found that the buyer was Tempo
So who will honour the Guarantee
I am also having problems getting my Linsar TV repaired. 5 yr Warranty via John Lewis Partnership.
Every one very helpful at John Lewis and their repair agents but they don’t seem to comprehend the take over by the Tempo Group. Tried phoning the help line to get the usual message” we are experiencing high call volumes today please call back later”
Now getting very frustrated.
