Local retailer hosts Blooming Great Tea Party in support of Marie Curie

Coventry-based retailer Future Appliances has teamed up with Swiss firm Franke to host a “Blooming Great Tea Party” in support of Marie Curie.

The event, which includes a bake sale, will take place at the retailer’s showroom at 104-108 Holbrook Lane on Friday 21st June between 11am and 4pm and the local community is invited to join in the fun while enjoying a cuppa and a cake.

Randeev, Managing Director at Future Appliances, said: “We’re hosting the Blooming Great Tea Party to raise as much money as we can for Marie Curie and the amazing work they do for all of those with terminal illnesses.”

Franke has commissioned Regula Ysewijn, an award-winning cookbook author and culinary historian, to develop Victoria Sponge Finger cakes for the fundraising initiative and is donating them to its UK retailers signed up to host a tea party.

Last year, the national retailer event contributed more than £7,000 to the Marie Curie campaign.

Ysewijn’s recipe is available to download at www.franke.co.uk/charity, and consumers have the chance to win an afternoon tea for two by uploading a photo of themselves with their Victoria Sponge cake to the Franke Facebook page at Facebook.com/FrankeUK or on Twitter @FrankeUK using the hashtag #mywonderfulcake. Donations are also welcome.
