Miele: biggest product launch in firm’s 120-year history

Miele’s biggest product launch in the company’s 120-year history, the Generation 7000 series of appliances, took 72 months to develop, covers 15 separate product groups, involves 10 different factories and incorporates 353 models.

Key elements of the range include four updated built-in design lines, each available at four price points depending on specification. The new VitroLine is the main highlight, available in Graphite Grey, Obsidian Black and Brilliant White, with the ovens featuring an all-glass front and ergonomic handle with distinctive glass inlay design detail.

The display panel is touch control and intuitively guides the user through the cooking process with a broad range of automatic programmes eliminating guesswork. The cooking process can be adjusted or extended via the Miele@Mobile app on a mobile device or voice control using Alexa. Other new features include MotionReact, where the appliance will activate automatically as the user approaches. 

In what Miele is claiming to be a “world first” for pyrolitic ovens, top-of-the-range models also feature FoodView, where an HD camera within the oven allows a user to keep an eye on the food and manage it during the cooking process from their mobile phone.    

Another new Miele innovation is TasteControl, which allows food to remain in the oven without overcooking.  At the end of the cooking programme, the oven door automatically opens slightly and reduces the internal temperature quickly.  An additional KeepWarm option ensures food stays warm without drying out or overcooking until it is ready to be served.
