Nespresso launches connected coffee machine
Nespresso is the latest company to introduce a connected coffee machine operated via a smartphone app, and has both Magimix and Krups models in the range.
The new Prodigio machine uses Bluetooth Smart® technology to provide users with the facility to prepare coffee remotely, receive alerts when they are running low on their favourite Grands Crus and receive notifications to empty the capsule container or top up the water tank.
The machine gives consumers the opportunity to brew their coffee from the comfort of their bed or from the dining room table when entertaining.
With a few swipes on the app, users are able to brew any of the range of 23 Nespresso Grand Cru coffees.
Additional features include:
- Capsule ordering
- Automatic brewing at a given time
- De-scaling kit ordering and reminders
- Error and maintenance alerts
The Prodigio comes in two colours, Silver and Titan, and is available from 1st March 2016 priced at £159. The Prodigio&Milk, priced at £199, comes with an integrated Aeroccino3 milk frother and has multiple size settings, making it suitable for Ristretto, Espresso and Lungo coffees.
