New NEFF extractor range features smart control

NEFF has launched a new range of flush-to-ceiling extractors comprising five models and a choice of two widths – 90cm and 120cm – to suit different hob sizes. They all feature smart control via the smart home system Home Connect, which works with home hubs such as Alexa so that voice control is available without resort to the extractor’s remote. “This would be useful if you were cooking and had dirty hands,” says Sean Liddle, Product Manager, Ventilation, BSH Home Appliances Ltd. “You could simply ask Alexa to turn on the hood to a particular power level.”

Another innovation in these hoods is Hob-Hood Control, whereby the hood connects directly to the hob via WiFi. This means that when the hob is turned on, the hood is activated. A Climate Control Sensorthen detects the amount of steam and smells and automatically sets the most effective power level to extract it. “The advantage of this is that you don’t have to make manual adjustments to the hood during cooking, taking away all the worry of which power level to use and keeping noise levels to a minimum,” adds Sean Liddle.

Based on the specifications of the N 90 197CPS8W5, performance parameters of the range are typically: Energy efficiency – A, at a range from A+++ to D; Extraction rate – 458 m³/h (normal), 933 m³/h (intensive);Noise level – 56dB.

The N 90 197CPS8W5 has a RRP of£2179.
