New stove from ESSE offers “plug & play” convenience

A new electric heater has been developed by stove maker ESSE “to appeal to sophisticated, design-aware urban customers looking for style, functionality and flexibility.”

The Vector is designed and built entirely in Britain, with support from The Design Council and Creative Lancashire, and ESSE, known for hand-built premium wood-burning stoves and range cookers, believes it will “introduce this long established British brand to a much wider cross section of customers,” marking “a radical departure from traditional heater design and styling.”

It is available in a graphite finish, fabricated from premium grade extruded sheet aluminium, and provides both radiant and convective heat via an efficient cylindrical body.

The Vector requires no installation or maintenance and can be used in any room with a 13amp socket; but unlike a fan heater, it is silent and draught-free. A single top-mounted dial switches the power on or off and varies the temperature. After being powered down, the Vector continues to heat a room for up to 30 minutes.

Extended heating elements create even heat that radiates out from the aluminium exterior panel, while cool air is drawn in at floor level and fed upwards by a chimney effect to convect out as warm air via the distinctive finned grill at the top of the unit.

With a maximum output of 2kW, the Vector will easily heat a family room and maintain a comfortable temperature for several hours without overheating.

At 16kg, the Vector is easy to move to wherever an additional heat source is needed, and can provide additional heat for occasional spaces such as spare rooms, home offices, loft and attic spaces, ‘man caves’, summerhouses and conservatories.

It comes with ESSE’s manufacturer-backed Lifetime Service Guarantee, and is, says ESSE, “the first ESSE product that customers can view, trial and take home the same day thanks to its innovative wheeled trundle packaging – custom designed by Smurfit Kappa.”

ESSE sales director Mark Blewitt said: “The Vector is a landmark product for ESSE, reflecting a new approach to high quality design, manufacturing and performance. Unmistakably an ESSE, it is built to the same high standards as our cast-iron products like the Ironheart cooking stove, but with the kind of ‘plug and play’ flexibility demanded by modern lifestyles.”
