One million “milestone” for LG InstaView Door-in-Door™ refrigerator

LG Electronics has announced that sales of its InstaView Door-in-Door™ refrigerator have reached a million units since its introduction in 2016.

The InstaView takes its name from a panel in the door which can be transformed into a transparent window by knocking twice on the glass. This allows users to see what’s inside without opening the door, thereby reducing the loss of cold air. The Door-in-Door™ feature provides easy access to drinks and snacks and minimises exposure of the main refrigerator compartment to room temperature, reducing the loss of cold air by more than 41%, according to LG. 

The appliance has received design awards such as the Red Dot and iF, and is now available in around 150 countries in six continents.  

“This milestone is a testament to LG’s ability to develop differentiated, high-quality products that have propelled us to the top of the ranks in many home appliance categories,” said Dan Song, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company.

“Today’s appliances include as much technology as a computer or smartphone and our customers have extremely high expectations of them. Our advanced technology and customer-first approach is resonating with consumers who have made InstaView one of the fastest selling refrigerator brands as long as refrigerators have existed.” 

To satisfy the growing demand for InstaView refrigerators, LG has added the feature to more refrigerators in its lineup, including French-Door and Side-by-Side, and the technology can now be found in other appliances such as the LG SIGNATURE Wine Cellar and ThinQ™ Range.
