Panasonic announces flagship OLED TV for 2021
Panasonic has announced the launch of the JZ2000 – its flagship OLED TV for 2021 – which features AI-powered picture auto-optimisation and “super-low” latency for superior gaming performance.
The unit’s new HXC Pro AI Processor uses artificial intelligence to analyse and detect the content being viewed and automatically optimises both picture and sound quality, achieving the best possible viewing experience without accessing the settings menus.
The JZ2000 also supports the HDR10+ Adaptive feature, which dynamically adapts HDR content to the lighting conditions of the viewing area.
With the HCX Pro AI Processor, Panasonic has been able to significantly reduce input lag when gaming, so there’s minimal delay between pressing a button on a gaming controller and the action being displayed on screen, reducing the latency to amongst the very lowest figures for an OLED TV. Super-low latency is a key component of ‘Game Mode Extreme’, which delivers a smooth gaming experience.
Game Mode Extreme also comprises support for HDMI 2.1 variable refresh rate (VRR) and high frame rate (HFR); a dedicated picture mode for gaming; and support for HDMI Signal Power Link, which will improve the experience and ease of using the JZ2000 with CEC non-supported devices such as old PCs.
Like its predecessor, the JZ2000 features Panasonic’s proprietary Master HDR OLED Professional Edition panel, meaning, says the Japanese manufacturer, “the model stands as the most advanced OLED in the market when it comes to brightness.”
The unit’s “Tuned by Technics” 125W sound system accommodates side-firing speakers in addition to upward-firing speakers, front-firing speakers and a subwoofer to deliver an immersive Dolby Atmos experience with a spatial soundstage and powerful bass.
Support for a wide range of HDR formats includes Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Vision, Filmmaker Mode and HLG Photo, and the unit also features major voice services built-in, allowing users to operate some key TV functions using spoken commands.
The JZ2000 OLED TV, available in 65- and 55-inch models, will be available to purchase from early summer.
