Polk announces two new powered subwoofers

Polk Audio is announcing two new powered subwoofers as part of the Home Theatre Series (HTS) Subwoofers, the HTS10 and HTS12, designed to add powerful, deep bass to a home theatre setup. These are the only subwoofers to feature Polk’s Patented PowerPort™ technology, which reduces port noise via a proprietary cone that sits just within the port, designed to deliver louder, lower and more accurate bass response.  They are powered by 200W and 400W Class D amplifiers respectively.

Each subwoofer has a front-firing 10-inch (HTS10) or 12-inch (HTS12) Dynamic Balance, is universally compatible with home theatre equipment and features connectivity via LFE or component inputs

The cabinet is built with a strong, rigid and acoustically inert enclosure and designed with curved edges. Its non-resonant Meddite MDF construction, with extra bracing, ensures a more life-like sound, reducing unwanted internal standing waves for less coloration. In addition, the HTS Subwoofers have easily accessible controls for volume, low pass filter, phase, and a 12V trigger for on/off power switching
