Rotpunkt designs for “massive opportunities” in contract kitchens

German ergonomic kitchen furniture designer Rotpunkt has identified that the UK is set for a boom in contract kitchens as post-lockdown urban renewal and a surge in build-to-rent construction projects creates a demand for modular furniture solutions in the kitchen.

Rotpunkt is focusing on this high-potential market with its “small footprint, big design ideas” range of modular furniture solutions which, says the company is “ideal for loft-style living, studio apartments and inner-city dwellings.”

As the UK adjusts to life after lockdown and post-Brexit settlement, urban renewal is a key part of the picture… As a world city, the rental market is expected to increase by 122% over the next decade, with massive opportunities for the interior design and contract kitchens market.”

Matt Phillips, Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt, adds: “There is growing demand for flexible kitchen living spaces which are modern, versatile and aesthetically pleasing, and this comes at a time when the biggest build-to-rent construction projects are scheduled to start in the UK this year. With nearly one-third applying to housing specifically for the rental market, contract kitchens are predicted to experience an influx of enquiries over the coming months.”

Rotpunkt’s 2021 product mix of doors, cabinets, worktops, handles and accessories includes the new Slice Metal Line door and Wall-panelling System with latest accessories, and the wall-mounted Cube, to create “a dedicated space for built-in appliances without sacrificing essential storage and cabinet space in the main kitchen area.”

The new range claims enhanced durability, versatility through choices of configurations colours and accessories, and space-saving with the ability to house built-in appliances teamed with standard shelves, internal drawers and special storage options. The Cube can be wall-hung, deck mounted or between furniture and is automatically adapted to each appliance
