Russell Hobbs’ Legacy Collection celebrates 60 years of the automatic kettle

Russell Hobbs’ Legacy Collection is a special edition breakfast range developed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the world’s first automatic electric kettle, introduced by the brand in 1955.

The collection features a limited edition kettle and toaster in high shine silver (only available in 2015) and a kettle, toaster and coffee maker in red, black or cream chrome with black gloss accents.

The silver chrome kettle features a ‘6’ styled handle and its red, black and cream counterparts have a ‘0’ styled handle, in order to incorporate the 60th anniversary into the design.

Mike Little, Commercial Director at Russell Hobbs’ owner Spectrum Brands, said: “We are proud of Russell Hobbs’ heritage and innovation in the breakfast market. The Legacy Collection marks this special milestone whilst responding to consumer demand for innovative breakfast products.

“The range has been designed with more than aesthetics and functionality in mind. It has product innovation, too, thanks to its energy efficient and quick boil features.”

The “hero” Legacy kettle boils one cup of water in just 55 seconds. Its ‘perfect pour’ spout prevents drips and the two ergonomic handles, while marking the 60th anniversary, have been designed to make pouring and carrying easier and more comfortable.
