Samsung’s new display ‘The Wall Luxe’ debuts at Harrods

Samsung has announced that its luxury display, The Wall Luxe, is now available to order at London department store Harrods.

Billed as “offering discerning customers the ultimate display solution fit for any luxury residence”, The Wall Luxe can be customised to fit any home environment, going beyond the standard 16:9 ratio to occupy unusually shaped flat walls, pillars or – for a truly bizarre viewing experience – door frames.

The display has two distinct modes: entertainment and ambient. In entertainment mode it provides “incredible” visual experiences across a range of media, “from watching a movie in striking colour and contrast to taking gaming to new heights”, claiming to deliver the best picture in any light.

In ambient mode, when not being used for entertainment, it becomes a visual backdrop, “allowing people to view art, picture or immersive scenes like never before,” said Samsung. “With Ambient Mode, The Wall Luxe becomes a digital canvas, letting people create striking centrepieces that bring any room to life. It’s Infinity Design and Décor Frame create a display that complements any space and only stands out when directed. With an almost edgeless display and a slim design, The Wall Luxe oozes sleekness and blends completely with its surroundings.”

Whilst The Wall Luxe delivers “ultimate viewing flexibility in the home”, where it really excels, according to the Korean manufacturer, is its extraordinary picture quality with striking contrast and lifelike colours, so every tiny detail can be seen.

The display uses a new process to produce LEDs where the individual pixels are only 0.8mm wide, meaning more pixels can be used in every frame for richer, denser, higher quality imagery. It also uses HDR10+ to produce “incredible” levels of brightness. Combined with precise greyscale to enhance contrast, it ensures a crystal-clear picture in any light.

Damon Crowhurst, Head of Visual Display at Samsung UK, commented: “As the world’s first consumer modular LED screen solution, The Wall Luxe delivers the ultimate flexibility for people wanting to customise their homes with bespoke display solutions – delivering on design without compromising on top-of-the-range technology.

“Consumers will no longer have to sacrifice the design of their home to accommodate standard screen sizes. With Samsung’s The Wall Luxe, we provide infinite screen size and shape possibilities which reimagine the total viewing experience. We’re thrilled to be the first to offer this solution with Harrods as our retail partner.”

Samsung said customers will be advised on the cost of installation and audio solutions for the display at point of order due to the bespoke nature of the product.
