Sharp uses sponsorship to “make brand more visible again”

Sharp has announced its co-operation with the GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Junior Team for the forthcoming World Superbike Racing Season 2020 in a move to “make the brand more visible again”.

As Technical Partner for the Yamaha-supported team during the Championship event, the Sharp brand will feature on the team’s YZF-R1 bike.

In 2020 the GRT Yamaha squad will contest their second season in the FIM Superbike World Championship. The Team has been part of the international sport scene since 2016 and performance has been key to its success. The squad secured the triple crown in 2017, winning the FIM Supersport World Championship alongside both the Team and Manufacturer titles.

Within the framework of the Superbike World Championship, Sharp will be represented at thirteen races inside and outside Europe, thereby increasing its brand presence and, said the company, “taking a further step in the direction of brand expansion”.

Kai Thielen, Marketing Director Europe, said. “Sharp wants to increase its European presence further and bring the brand into the attention of consumers. The co-operation with one of the most successful motorcycle racing teams offers Sharp a great platform to make the brand more visible again.”

“Racing is all about performance and we are happy to welcome onboard a partner such as Sharp, whose pursuit of excellence matches that of the GRT Yamaha Team,” said Filippo Conti, Team Manager of the GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Junior Team.

“I believe the partnership will be a strong one, with Sharp providing the cutting-edge technology we need to compete successfully in what is an increasingly competitive championship.”
