Sirius Buying Group hits 20 in 2021

Electrical appliance and kitchen retail sector buying group Sirius celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and the Group is predicting “a surge in independent retail” following a period of difficult trading conditions.

Managing Director Steve Jones said: “To be able to recognise our 20th year in business following a period of paused trading in light of the pandemic and what initially caused huge uncertainty is truly remarkable, and to achieve this in the wake of our best year to-date in terms of new members, purchasing growth and rebates is huge.”

Founded in 2001, Sirius now has 183 members and over 250 retail outlets and claims collective trade purchasing power of more than £100 million. The Sirius annual trade show has become an important fixture in the electrical retail industry, and during the pandemic the introduction of a Digital Trade Show and Virtual Conference maintained continuity and, according to Steve Jones, has enabled Sirius to “create market resilience and retain a high calibre of retail opportunities for our approved members despite market conditions.”
