Sirius presents £5.5K cheque to Cystic Fibrosis Charity

At this year’s Sirius Annual Awards Gala – the culmination of the buying group’s AGM and Trade Show – attendees contributed a generous £11,000 in charity auction donations, to be divided between the group’s chosen charities, Crohns & Colitis UK and Cystic Fibrosis Trust UK.

At a recent presentation ceremony Sirius Chairman Gordon Jones (centre), presented a cheque for £5,500 to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust UK. Mr Jones said: “With the help of everyone in attendance, the Gala Dinner saw an incredible £11,000 raised from all of the donations received for the charity auction. One of the chosen charities was the Cystic Fibrosis Trust UK which personally affects the family of our member, Craig Maggs, FACE Electrical.”

Mr Maggs (far left) said: “Can I just say a huge thank you to all of the members and manufacturers for their amazing generosity raising funds for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The money will go towards more development and research which will benefit so many people.

“We put forward the CF Trust as my wife Amy has Cystic Fibrosis. We don’t know what we would do without the support from the CF Trust and especially all of the team at Exeter RD&E. The progress which is being made for this genetic disease has come such a long way with new treatments becoming more readily available. Thanks to these new treatments Amy is doing really well and we now have a beautiful 2 year old girl Lucy.”

“Once again a massive thank you to everyone, the money will go a long way helping hundreds of people in the UK.”
