Smeg scores seven accolades in Good Design Awards

Smeg has won seven accolades at the Good Design Awards 2017 in Chicago, Illinois, honouring the Italian brand’s small appliances and major domestic appliances.

The winning products were: Dolce Stil Novo Blast Chiller; 60cm Linea oven; 45cm Linea oven; 90cm Opera range cooker; HBF02 Hand Blender; CJF01 Citrus Juicer and ECF01 Coffee Machine. The Awards are judged by an international jury of architects, designers and creative directors.

The Good Design Awards are organised annually by The Chicago Athenaum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies, and encompass new consumer products, graphics and packaging designed and manufactured in Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America.

The seven award wins were the culmination of a year in which Smeg launched a second collection of appliances with Dolce&Gabbana and also opened a flagship three-storey commercial space in the UK on Regent Street St James’s, London. Smeg collaborated with Dolce&Gabbana again later in the year to take over the UK’s most famous department store, Harrods, to launch a spectacular in-store Italian Christmas market.
