Sony’s new DAB in-car receiver promises safer listening

Sony’s new XAV-AX205DB car audio receiver offers easy smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ “to manage communications, get direction, and control via the mobile phone, all hands-free. This is Sony’s first visual receiver model with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ connectivity as well as DAB. A built-in DAB/DAB+ tuner ensures a greater current choice of listening, and provision for any future broadcast changes.

This unit has 3-camera input enabling selection of an additional two camera views manually, while rear view relates to the reverse gear, making it particularly useful for  tight and testing parking spaces. DVD player with video out and high voltage pre-out features are also useful new additions for expanding the system.

Sony claims excellent smartphone integration for in-car usage with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in, which allows connection to a smartphone, safe use of apps, phone calls, accessing music, and getting directions with minimum distraction from driver concentration.

In addition to 4x55W highest industry output power, the XAV-AX205DB AV receiver features the EXTRA BASS™ circuitry which overcomes engine noise and reproduces clear sound at any volume level.

The XAV-AX205DB model will be priced at round £500 and will be available across Europe from May 2018.
