Toshiba launches new 4K HDR TV model

Toshiba has announced the new Toshiba TV UL20 4K HDR model, in a range of screen sizes from 43-inch to 65-inch, incorporating picture, audio, voice control and connectivity technologies designed to offer “great value.”

Toshiba’s own TRU Picture Engine offers upscaling and smoother, more detailed images: TRU Micro Dimming technology gives the Toshiba UL20 dynamic contrast performance for deep blacks and fine detail across dark and bright scenes; TRU Flow smooth motion technology removes judder and smooths images during fast-moving scenes, making it ideal for sports fans; TRU Resolution upscaling means all content, native 4K or otherwise, is displayed at its best.

The UL20’s cinematic audio, powered by Dolby Audio processing, delivers powerful sound.

Its Linux-based OS works with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa enabled devices so the TV can be voice-controlled. Theoperating system also offers apps and streaming services in one platform: Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video; on-demand content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, UKTV Play, CBS Catchup Channels UK. Freeview Play integration allows 85 live Freeview channels.

Bart Kuijten, Commercial Director at Toshiba UK, said: “The new models are packed with technology to enhance the viewing experience; smooth picture quality for high-speed sport action, the latest 4K with brighter colours and darker blacks, or enhanced sound when watching a Hollywood action blockbuster.

“Connecting to an Alexa or Google Assistant device also lets you control the TV with your voice and can make it the centre of the connected living room.”

The Toshiba UL20 is available from select retailers including Amazon, AO, Currys and Very.
