Toshiba TV extends Android TV offering

Toshiba TV has announced its new UA2B Android TV™ model, currently available in 58” “with more sizes to come.” The UA2B is Toshiba’s latest 4K HDR TV, joining the recently launched UK4B, UL20 and WK3 models. With Android TV, the UA2B offers viewers access to an array of movies, shows, games, and more from Google Play – with Netflix, YouTube, Freeview Play Recorder and Prime Video, all installed and ready to use from set up. Users can also cast movies, shows, apps, games, and more from their phone, tablet, or laptop directly to the TV with Chromecast built-in.

The UA2B remote’s embedded microphone means users can press the Google Assistant button on the remote to do more on the TV with their voice, and also extend its use by connecting smart home devices to perform tasks such as controlling home lighting.

Toshiba TV’s TRU Picture Engine features TRU Resolution technology, which  automatically upscales non-4K content, and picture and sound quality are further enhanced with Dolby Vision HDR and speakers designed by Onkyo.

Bart Kuijten, Commercial Director Vestel UK Ltd, said:“We are extremely excited to expand Toshiba’s Android TV offering with the UA2B, offering our customers access to a huge range of entertainment from the extensive Google Play Store, as well as featuring smart capabilities using Google Assistant that allow people to enjoy more of their favourite big screen moments.”

The offering includes 85 live Freeview channels, and over 20,000 hours of on-demand content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, UKTV Play, CBS Catchup Channels UK and Horror Bites, available through Freeview Play integration.

The 58” model currently available has a RRP of £399.99.
