Whirlpool UK appoints new sales directors
Whirlpool UK has announced the appointment of Jim McEwan as Sales Director, Multi-Channel Customers, and Nick Hughes as Sales Director, Developing Business.
The move follows James Goldsmith’s promotion to Managing Director KitchenAid SDA EMEA and is another step in the integration of Whirlpool Corporation and Indesit Company in the UK. In July this year the business announced the repositioning of the Whirlpool brand in the premium market sector, stating that the move will ensure the Group’s portfolio is well placed following the acquisition of Italy’s Indesit.
McEwan (pictured right), who joined Whirlpool UK in 2009, has been promoted to the Sales Director role from his previous position of Category Director, Marketing, which he held since January 2015.
Hughes (left) will join the company on the 23rd September and will be responsible for managing and developing sales channels and new business opportunities. He previously worked for Carlsberg Breweries, where he held the role of Vice-President Sales, Western Europe.
Maurizio Pettorino, Managing Director for Whirlpool UK Appliances Ltd, commented: “We’re very pleased to announce the new direction of our commercial team. With the promotion of Jim McEwan and the addition of Nick Hughes, I’m confident that our new commercial team will enable further growth in the premium sector and greater margin expansion through how we approach the market for us and our business partners.”
